Free Training at IRE 2015: Create Engaging Database Applications

May 14, 2015

IRE-2015-LogoCaspio has partnered with the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) again this year to host a hands-on training session at the annual IRE conference, held in Philadelphia on June 4.

The session will be focused on how journalists can use interactive online database applications to inform and engage readers, generate more page views, and increase ad revenues.

Session highlights:

  • Get inspiration from real-world examples of “share-worthy” hyper-local applications.
  • See a hands-on demo of Caspio’s sample restaurant inspection app with responsive design, data feeds, Google maps, proximity search, and more.
  • Attendees will receive a free permanent Caspio training account preloaded with ready-to-use sample apps.
Register now to reserve your seat and laptop. Some standing room may be available on a first-come first-serve basis after all seats are taken.

This training session was originally presented at the 2015 NICAR conference and we were thrilled to see quite a few database application projects rolled out by the attendees.

For example, Nelson Hsu, Senior Visuals Editor at NBC Universal, recently published a restaurant inspection app for the NBC4 TV station serving the Los Angeles area. The entire process required no programming; from importing the inspection data retrieved from the LA County Department of Public Health, to building and deploying the app. There was a significant traffic spike on the day the application went live and it continues to drive traffic on the website.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Philadelphia!
