Showcase: Syracuse.com Publishes Database of School Closings During Winter Storms
February 9, 2015
With snowstorms raging in the Northeast over the past week, Syracuse.com kept its citizens up-to-date using the Caspio database platform to post the latest school closings, road conditions, and snowfall numbers.
The public can view the latest information on school delays and closings at any time and sort the results based on different criteria. This application was shared on social media more than 1000 times within the first few days after it was published.
In addition, Syracuse.com has also published a snowfall totals database for the New York state with more than 360 snowfall totals compiled from multiple sources including the National Weather Service. Readers can search by county and city to view detailed snow fall information in that particular area.
The database was so popular, that they have created a national snowfalls database to search across the United States.
