Replit is genuinely strong at what it markets: Replit Agent builds and deploys working applications from natural-language prompts, with a build-run-deploy loop and broad developer reach. Nothing below disputes that. The question here is narrower: can a healthcare workflow with real patient data legally live on it? Replit’s own public record answers that question.

Replit staff declined to prioritize a BAA, on the record. In the forum thread “Is Replit Agent and Replit as a whole HIPAA compliant?” (asked April 9, 2025), Replit staff replied on May 13, 2025: “we haven’t prioritized it and probably won’t for this year. Will put you down as requesting it with the other enterprises that have asked.” That answer is still live and unchanged as of July 16, 2026.
Asked again in 2026, no staff answer. A second thread, “HIPAA compliance and BAA” (March 25, 2026), asks directly whether Replit will sign a HIPAA BAA. As of July 16, 2026, no Replit staff member has replied. The only answer on the thread comes from a community member: “NEVER put PHI in Replit.”

Replit’s security agents improve hygiene, not compliance.
