Albuquerque Area Indian Health Board Powers Tribal Data Sovereignty With Caspio’s No-Code Platform

SUNNYVALE, California, January 5, 2026 – Caspio, the leading no-code platform for building secure online database applications, today announced a new episode of its Low Code / High Impact podcast spotlighting the Albuquerque Area Indian Health Board (AAIHB). The nonprofit, which supports 27 Native American tribes across the Southwest, has built more than 20 HIPAA-compliant applications with Caspio, strengthening tribal public health systems and advancing data sovereignty.

In the episode, Judith Espinoza, epidemiologist, and Kristen Tsosie, database administrator, share how they replaced fragile spreadsheets and Access databases with secure, cloud-based solutions. Working as a two-person team, they created apps for chronic disease tracking, rabies vaccinations, audiology services, student wellness, and social services case management, all without writing code.

AAIHB’s digital readiness proved critical during the COVID-19 pandemic. Within weeks, the team built a Caspio-powered case monitoring and contact tracing system, enabling seven tribal communities to manage wellness calls, quarantines, and vaccine tracking in real time.

“We’re not developers, but with Caspio, we’ve become builders,” Judith Espinoza said.

By building systems in-house, AAIHB ensures that tribal data remains secure, accessible, and under the control of the communities it serves. “The goal has always been to provide tools that are customizable and user-friendly, so end users can serve their communities effectively,” Kristen added.
