Part 5 will show you how to deploy the entire application online by embedding each of our DataPages on an HTML website.
If you don’t have any background in HTML or CSS, there are tools available that are compatible with Caspio in the form of intuitive, drag-and-drop website builders. Examples include Weebly, WordPress, Yola and Squarespace to name a few.
Go to your list of DataPages and begin by deploying your report that shows all the new bugs.
DEPLOYMENT 1: new_bugs.html
Hover your cursor over Filter New Bugs Report and follow the steps below:
After logging in as John Doe (Username: johndoe | Password: test), you should be able to see a report that filters out all the bugs that are flagged as new and assigned to John.
DEPLOYMENT 2: in_progress.html
Deploy your Filter In Progress Report by following the same procedure when deploying with the Embed method. Make sure that the HTML file (in_progress.html) you’re pasting the deploy code in is correct.
You should now see a report containing all the bugs that are In Progress.
DEPLOYMENT 3: report_a_bug.html
Follow the same pattern by deploying Create a New bug with the Embed method, and pasting the deploy code in the right HTML file (report_a_bug.html).
Now John can report a bug via the web.
DEPLOYMENT 4: manage_bugs.html
Deploy Manage Bugs Report with the Embed method and paste the deploy code in the right HTML file (manage_bugs.html).
You now have the ability to search and manage bugs via the web.
DEPLOYMENT 5: new_comment.html
Deploy Add new Comment with the Embed method and paste the deploy code in the right HTML file (new_comment.html).
Now that you understand the simple process of deployment in Caspio, go ahead and publish the three remaining DataPages in three different tabs.
DEPLOYMENT 6: manage_comments.html
Here’s the report from your Manage Comments DataPage.
DEPLOYMENT 7: bugs_by_status.html
Here’s the pie chart from your Total Bugs by Status DataPage.
DEPLOYMENT 8: bugs_per_month.html
Here’s the line chart from your Total Bugs by Month DataPage.
After deploying all DataPages, your end users should be able to log in directly via the web and gain access to business-critical information. They can even do so using mobile devices like iPads or iPhones.
This application is only one way of building your DataPages and defining your workflow. We strongly recommend checking out our Resource Center to inspire you create even more sophisticated apps.
Thank you so much for your time and we hope to see you again!
