Dynamic Cascading Dropdowns and Listboxes
Caspio Bridge now supports filtering logic between fields – no JavaScript required!
Two new form elements called Cascading dropdown and Cascading listbox dynamically populate the values of fields based on the user's previous selection in the preceding field. Cascading fields can be used for all types of applications and data sets where you want a filtering sequence in your fields.
Distance Search with ZIP Code or Geocoded Data
Activate Distance Search in your account to let your users search for records within a specific distance from their location. For example, search for all hospitals located within 5 to 50 miles of a specific ZIP code.
This type of search can be easily configured in Caspio Bridge without any additional programming. Once enabled, we upload a database of U.S. ZIP codes to quickly use for distance approximation if your data is not geocoded.
SPAM-blocking with CAPTCHA
Caspio Bridge now provides a simple way to add CAPTCHA to prevent your forms from being submitted by automated programs and scripts. This improves security of your data and prevents SPAM through your web forms.
CAPTCHA, which stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart", presents the user with distorted image of letters and digits. Such images are relatively easy for people to read but difficult for computer programs.
Audio CAPTCHA is also provided for visually impaired users to listen to an audio recording of the same characters.
File Attachments in Automatic Emails
You can now send user-uploaded files as attachments in your acknowledgement and notification emails whenever your form contains one or more file fields.
Relative Paths in Destination Page Redirection
When defining your preferred destination page after form submission, you can now enter a relative path instead of a complete URL. This is especially useful when testing applications in a staging environment or deploying the same DataPage to multiple websites.
Datasheet Find & Replace
Caspio Bridge now provides Find, Replace and Replace All functionality to help you quickly find and modify data in Table Datasheet. Maneuver through your data with the Find Next button and utilize the Replace tab to make changes in your entire table, or just within a specific column or row. You no longer need to export your table outside of Caspio Bridge for this type data modification.
Multi-select Listboxes in Search Forms
Now it is possible to create a multi-select listbox in a search form to use several values from the listbox in your search criteria. The DataPage user holds down "Shift" (for range) or "CTRL" (for individual items) while selecting options in the listbox.
"Range" Search Criteria
"Range" is a new comparison type available in Search and Report DataPages to search the database using pre-defined ranges with starting and ending values displayed in dropdowns, listboxes and radio buttons. For example, the DataPage user can search a database of real estate properties with various price ranges (such as houses between $400,000 and $600,000) which the Caspio Bridge administrator has already defined for them in the listbox.
Pass Parameters to Dropdowns, Listboxes and Radio Buttons
Dropdown, listbox and radio button form elements can now receive parameters (previously, these fields could only pass parameters). This feature is very helpful for multi-page forms and searches.
Faster Wizard Navigation
The DataPage Wizard now provides shortcut navigation that lets you jump directly to any step while editing a DataPage. This feature saves you time when you know exactly which screen you need to go to make a quick edit.
Also, you can now click Finish at any time when editing a DataPage.
Filter Dropdowns and Listboxes by Record Level Security
The lookup values in dropdown and listboxes can now be filtered by Record Level Security criteria in authenticated applications. This feature is helpful when you want only the items authorized to the authenticated user to be displayed in the dropdown or listbox.
"Update Form" via Parameters
"Update Forms" can now be enabled with parameters in addition to authentication identity. In the Web Form DataPage, select the option to find the record through a unique ID.
Repeat Email Fields to Prevent Misspellings
As the designer of the DataPage, you now have the option of requiring your users to enter their email twice in forms to ensure accuracy.
Field Re-ordering in Table Design
You can now re-order your fields in Table Design, which serves as the initial default for how fields are ordered later in Table Datasheet, DataPage wizards, and exported files.
Higher Limits for Large Data Sets
In response to many customers utilizing large data sets, we have provisionally increased the record limits in the following areas:
- Dropdowns and listboxes containing data from lookup tables now support up to 5,000 records (from 1,000).
- Data Download via DataPages now exports up to 100,000 records (from 5,000).
- Datasheets in Caspio Bridge now display the first 100,000 records (from 10,000).
Obviously larger data sets require a longer download time. We will be monitoring the response times of deployed DataPages as a result of these increases, which may require additional adjustments to these system limits in the future.

Safari Browser Support for Account Administration
Caspio Bridge administration is now available using Safari 3.1 (or higher) on Windows and Macintosh.
