AutoComplete Fields

New AutoComplete fields combine the flexibility of free-form fields with the power of a lookup dropdown. A suggestion box appears as the user types keywords and recommends matching values already in the database.

"Sort By" Interactive Dropdown

Now you can add an interactive "Sort by" dropdown to the top of the Results Page so users can refresh the data based on suggested sorting options. You can configure the sorting fields, edit default labels for ascending and descending order, and even include sorting fields not displayed on the Results Page.

New Navigation and Interactive Elements

Add more interactivity and usability to your apps with these features:

• "Search Again" Navigation - Use the "Search Again" link to easily return to the search form from any page of your reports.
• "Show Per Page" Dropdown - Include a user-selectable interactive dropdown to control the number of records displayed per page.
• "Jump to" Navigation - Allow users to skip to a certain page or record by entering the number in the paging controls.
• "Delete Record" Options - Optionally allow users to permanently delete records from the database on all types of reports, including Details Pages.
• "Next/Previous" Navigation on Details Pages - Now you can quickly navigate between individual records on the Details Page.
• Hovered Actions on Gallery, List and Calendar - "Details" and "Delete" links on List, Gallery and Calendar reports now appear as a hovered effect as you mouse-over each record.
• Flexible Layout for Interactive Controls - Display paging controls above and/or below the Results and Details Page.
• New Icon Actions with Localized Text - Display actions links (Search, Details, Delete, etc.) with both an icon and localized text.

Additional Updates in Caspio Bridge 7.2

• Truncate Long Text - Better control the layout of DataPages by limiting the amount of long text displayed and allow users to expand the text interactively.
• Hide Blank Fields - You can now entirely hide blank fields (including the label) for display-only fields.
• Randomized Results - Display results in a randomized sort order each time the page is refreshed so you can show a fresh set of records every time users revisit your page.
• View Properties Screen - The new View Properties screen provides a detailed list of information such as associated Tables, DataPages, Lookups and Authentications.
• Calculated Fields in Formulas and Default Values - Insert a calculated field inside the formula of another calculated field, or insert it as the default value for any field.
• Copy/Replace DataPage Dialog - The redesigned Copy DataPage dialog now includes a separate tab for Replace.
• New and Improved Styles - Five new Styles have been uploaded to all accounts to offer more designs optimized for the latest interactive features.

Table Relationships

You can now create table relationships using the new Relationships window. Relationships are the foundation of good database design, and the new drag-and-drop interface helps you quickly visualize the business logic of your applications at the data level.

Simply drag fields from one table to another to instantly join associated data together. You can then easily create Views and DataPages that automatically retain all your data relationships.

Caspio Relationships currently support:

• One-to-one and one-to-many relationships
• Referential integrity to keep all references in sync and prevent orphaned data
• Microsoft Access compatibility when importing and exporting relational data
• Related lookup dropdowns that automatically refer to Parent data

This release serves as the groundwork for future capabilities to help you manage relational data and its integrity in your Caspio applications.

New Join Types in Views

Caspio Bridge Views now support outer joins to let you slice and dice your data in more powerful ways.

Supported join types:

• Inner Join - Includes only records which are present in both Tables
• Left Outer Join - Includes all records in Left Table and only matching records in Right Table
• Right Outer Join - Includes all records from Right Table and only matching records in Left Table
• Full Outer Join - Includes all records in both tables, even if no other matching record exists

New Number Types - General, Integer and Currency

New Number data types were added to support additional numeric formats:

• General Number - Default for general numbers up to 15 digits, including decimal places
• Integer - Integer numbers without decimals up to 10 digits
• Currency - Monetary data, up to 15 digits and 4 decimal points

Additional Updates in Caspio Bridge 7.1

• Multi-Record Delete - New checkboxes in Datasheet make it easy to delete multiple records at a time, including filtered record sets.
• Image Alt Attributes - Display rollover text for your images using a new Image Alt Attribute, which is recommended when deploying for SEO and Section 508 compliance.

Scheduled Import/Export with Caspio DataHub

It is now possible to automatically transfer your Caspio Bridge data to and from websites, FTP sites, secure servers, and Amazon S3. Available as a package add-on, Caspio DataHub adds a new Tasks area to define import or export tasks based on your preferred timetable (daily, hourly, weekly, monthly, once or on-demand). This feature gives you an automated mechanism to securely distribute backup, and integrate your data with third-party sites, systems and data feeds.

Password Encryption

Available in Table Design, the new "Password" smart field automatically protects your sensitive password data. The Password data type encrypts all passwords so they always remain concealed to everyone, even when the table is exported or viewed within your account. Along with the other security enhancements in this release, this feature offers best-in-class data security for your authenticated applications.

Password Reset

When you utilize the new Password data type (above), you can also configure your Password Recovery DataPages to allow users to reset their forgotten passwords. When requested, users receive an email containing a unique auto-generated link that they must click within 2 hours to create a new password. Password Recovery DataPages provide a secure and complete password retrieval system that can be fully implemented in minutes.

Timestamp Smart Fields

Use the new Timestamp data type to automatically record the date and time whenever a record is submitted or updated.

The Field Options tab lets you set field-level controls and defaults to maintain data consistency across your applications.

User Logs

Monitor user authentication logs and password recovery requests. Filter logs by date, authentication folder, user name, IP address, and more. User Logs are available as a package add-on.

New Advanced Reporting

We are very excited to announce the release of Advanced Reporting, which provides several highly-requested features to further enhance your web apps and reports. These are:

• Calculated Fields
• Totals and Aggregation
• Data Grouping

Calculated Fields

You can now add calculated fields to your reports directly in the DataPage wizard. Easily insert calculated fields and drop in formulas and functions from the provided dropdown. You can use any field from your source table (or passed parameter) in your calculations to build smarter reports, analyze real-time data, and derive new information from your data.

Totals and Aggregation

Add totals and aggregation as new rows above and/or below your data to roll-up and summarize your information in various ways. Apply common aggregation functions like SUM and AVERAGE, or create custom formulas as you wish for instant data manipulation. You can add multiple rows of aggregations to your data set.

Data Grouping

Organize data into groups for easier understanding and analysis. Simply check the grouping option for the field in the DataPage wizard. You can have multiple levels of sub-groups and make them expandable and collapsible.

Advanced Reporting applies to Report and Combined Chart and Report DataPages, available immediately in Caspio Bridge accounts
based on package level.

DataPage Revision History

Restore previous versions of DataPages with the click of a button. A revision window displays up to 50 previous DataPage versions and makes it easy to preview and roll back to previous versions, or lock important versions for archiving purposes. DataPage Revisions are available as a package add-on.

It is now easier than ever to "point-and-click" your way to building attractive, feature-rich web apps. In addition to an updated look and feel, the DataPage wizards have been redesigned with new DataPage categories and to display various options side-by-side on the first screen.

Chart DataPages

Add a visual representation of your data with the new Chart DataPages. Popular chart styles are supported including bars, pies, columns, lines steps and splines. Similar to all other Caspio apps, you can easily create charts without programming and instantly embed them on any website, CMS or mobile site (supports iPhone and iPad).

Image Resizer

Image resizer capabilities are now available as a package add-on. Automatically create thumbnails of image files to improve the overall appearance of your apps and reduce file transfer and page load times.

"Begins With" Search Option

A new "Begins With" comparison type returns only records that begin exactly the same as the search data, giving you another powerful way to search through your records and produce reports.

HTML Block Column Headers

When creating a Tabular Report, you can now add a new column and label by inserting an HTML Block. Easily create custom titles for each column by typing the desired text into the "Label" option while configuring the fields.

British (UK) English Localization

A new Localization has been added for British (UK) English format, including the pound currency symbol and the appropriate date and number display.

New Calendar DataPage

The new Calendar DataPage lets you easily display date-centric information such as events, schedules, and appointments on a monthly or weekly calendar.
