High Usage FileStor

Caspio High Usage FileStor automatically transfers designated files from your database tables to our cloud file storage service and enters a new URL for each file in a designated field of the same table. The file can then be accessed as much as necessary without incurring data transfer.

For maximum reliability, we utilize Amazon S3 for this service.

Please note that High Usage FileStor is only meant for non-sensitive files because the cloud space is publicly accessible.

Top Benefits

Save on Data Transfer - High usage apps that utilize images or files can drain your account data transfer quickly. With FileStor, you can completely eliminate this problem because data transfer from the FileStor is essentially free.

Save on Database Storage - Once a file is transferred to the FileStor, it may be automatically removed from your table to free up the space for other data.

Improve App Performance - Downloading from the file space is typically faster than from a table.

Use Cases

  • Real estate and used car listings are prime candidates for this service.
  • Image-heavy apps that receive photo submissions from the public or display public records.
  • When used in conjunction with our Image Resizer feature, file transfer occurs after the image is resized.
  • When your apps are embedded or widgetized on highly-trafficked websites like Craigslist and eBay.

Pricing

  • One-time setup fee for one table: $350
  • Recurring monthly fee: $100 per month
  • Includes unlimited data transfer and 50 GB of storage

Optional Services:

  • Setup fee for each additional table (requested at the same time): $200
  • Transfer existing files to FileStor: $300 per table (one time)
  • Additional block of 50 GB storage: $50 (includes unlimited data transfer)

How to Request

You can request this service by opening a support ticket. Please provide the following information in your request:

  • Name of the table(s), name of each file field, and name of each text field to place the new URL.
  • Choose one of the following file naming methods:
  1. Recommended: Replace filename with a unique GUID. GUIDs are very long random strings that ensure filenames are never redundant.
  2. Use a consistent prefix concatenated with the value of a designated unique ID to create a new file name with the same extension (MyFile<UniqueID>.ext). For example, file.jpg becomes MyFile21.jpg and myotherfile.gif becomes MyFile22.gif.
  3. Keep original file name - note that duplicate file names will overwrite previous files. Also, FileStor file names are case sensitive so file.jpg is not the same as File.jpg.
  • If there are already files in this table, specify if you would like them to be moved to the FileStor.
