Caspio Selected by Hearst Newspapers for New Series of User Applications

Caspio's platform-as-a-service will power more interactive experiences on Hearst newspaper web sites.

Mountain View, Calif. - March 19, 2008 - Caspio, Inc. (, provider of the leading on-demand platform for web applications, today announced a customer relationship with Hearst Newspapers. As a result, Hearst newspaper web sites nationwide will soon feature more interactive databases, web applications and other added experiences designed to make the sites even more useful and entertaining to visitors.

Hearst will use Caspio's web database platform, Caspio Bridge, to deploy online database applications without programming on its many popular web sites including the San Francisco Chronicle's ( and the Houston Chronicle's ( Hundreds of newspapers and television stations have already experienced dramatic boosts in new readers, page views and advertising revenue by using Caspio Bridge to publish searchable databases and web applications such as interactive school guides, home sale reports, automotive directories, and self-service ad placement portals. Today Caspio powers web applications for hundreds of media sites and over half of the top 100 American newspapers.

Caspio has offered the Caspio Bridge hosted service since 2001, with more than 150,000 web applications built to date.
