What is a DataPage?

DataPages are web application components you deploy to your website. They are the building blocks of a complete applications.

You create DataPages with Caspio's step-by-step wizards and deploy them on your site by inserting a code segment into your HTML source. The apps are served by Caspio, but appear seamlessly integrated with your web site!

 

What is Database Storage?

All Caspio accounts include a robust web database that is fully integrated with the web forms and applications you build with Caspio Bridge wizards. Each package provides for ample storage space for your database records, files and apps. This space is measured in megabytes (MB) or gigabytes (GB).

It is very rare for a Caspio customer to go above their allocated storage. Customers can upgrade to a bigger package, or buy extra storage space when that happens. You can monitor the storage utilization of your account by selecting "Usage Statistics" from the "Options" menu in your Caspio Bridge account. See how >>.

 

What is Data Transfer?

Whenever your DataPages are accessed or your web users submit or retrieve data through your web forms and applications, data is transferred between Caspio servers and their computers. Each Caspio Bridge account provides plenty of monthly data transfer for most applications. Data transfer is typically only a consideration for accounts with substantial file and image uploads and downloads.

You can monitor the data transfer utilization of your account by selecting "Usage Statistics" from the "Options" menu in your Caspio Bridge account. See how >>. You can upgrade to a bigger package at anytime, or buy extra data transfer if necessary.

 

What size package do I really need?

Think about all the screens your app will need for all its user groups, such as the public, internal staff, and administrators. Add them up and select the package that provides enough DataPages. Given Caspio's very generous allocation of data transfer and storage, most customers never reach those limits.

 

What if I go over my package limits?

Chances are very slim because we have packed plenty of resources into each package. In fact, over 90% of Caspio users never reach their storage and data transfer limits. Unless you plan to store a lot of files, you should be in good shape.

If you happen to go over your package limits, your DataPages will still be fully operational, but account overage fees will apply for that billing cycle. At any time, you can upgrade or create a custom package to fit your usage.
